Resident Artist: Audrey M Durham

​One of our resident artists and co-founders of The Garden Gallery, St. Pete is Audrey M Durham.  

 

Greetings, my name is Audrey Durham, I am an artist who continually challenges creative boundaries by exploring various mediums and techniques. My work spans across diverse artistic expressions; I am known for my canvas pieces that intricately resemble stained glass, achieved through a unique blend of mixed media. A significant aspect of my art involves incorporating resin into these canvases, adding depth and a tactile quality to the visual experience.

 

One of my proudest achievements is the creation of dystopian aquatic scenes featuring sea creatures enhanced with robotic elements. This thematic exploration allows me to blend natural and technological aesthetics, creating compelling narratives within my artworks.

What sets me apart from others is my multidisciplinary approach. I refuse to confine myself to one medium, instead embracing a fusion of techniques and materials to express my artistic vision fully. Looking ahead, I am excited to embark on a new venture into ceramics, combining slip mold techniques with intricate hand-built designs. This endeavor represents my ongoing commitment to innovation and exploration in the realm of visual arts.
